Tanakh Reading Schedule

I believe most of us have the desire to spend more time simply reading the Word of our Elohim, yet it always appears that the discipline to do so hides under the rug somewhere. I can remember the days when my husband and I were still part of the Westernized Church System – the incident I am referring to happened more than 30 years ago. The wife of a prominent ‘faith’ teacher made the commitment to read through the four Gospels four times in one month – a commitment that I respected and copied, and found very rewarding.

However, for those of us who have left that church system behind, have we put as much effort into absorbing the pages of the Tanakh (Old Testament)? We faithfully study the weekly Torah portions, repeating the Torah cycle on a yearly basis, and learning what is, essentially, the foundation to everything we believe. But what of the rest of it, all the pages from Joshua to Malachi, or 2Chronicles, depending on your version of the Scriptures?

It is with this thought in mind that I put together a schedule for reading through the entire Tanakh in one 52-week period, a schedule that can be used year after year, while allowing you the freedom to read from your personal choice of which version of the Scriptures you prefer. This schedule is also flexible enough that it can be started at any time of the year; it does not have to follow the same cycle as that of the Torah portions, beginning and ending with Simchat Torah.

Days 1 through 6 of each week have readings in succession (picking up where the previous day left off), and Day 7 is devoted to the reading the current Torah portion for that given week. No, I have not included in this schedule a reading for the Torah portions – there are already many available, as well as being listed here on this website.

If this is something that interests you, and something that you believe you would gain from, below is the link that will take you directly to the reading schedule. Should you have problems opening this link, please, email me , and I will gladly send the file to your personal email address.

Be blessed, y'all!
