TAMMUZ 3
Who is THAT?
“Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad [Adonai our God, Adonai is one]” (Deu 6:4 CJB)
Who is Adonai? Who is He to me? First and foremost, Adonai is the Elohim, the God, that I choose to recognize, acknowledge, and accept as THE only true, real, and supreme God in this universe. I understand that there are many who have referred to themselves as ‘gods,’ found throughout the pages of history; I choose to ignore and reject their claims. Adonai our Elohim is the Creator, the Beginning, the Source of all, and I choose to honor Him in and for that.
Adonai is not merely the Elohim, He is also my Elohim. I not only choose to recognize Adonai as Supreme, I also choose to accept Him as Sovereign in MY life. I willingly yield and submit to His rule in my life, knowing that I have chosen life, and not death; joy instead of sorrow; and a sense of belonging and fulfilment that can only come through an intimate relationship with my Creator. For ‘in Him I live and move and have my being …’ (Acts 17:28)
And this, folks, is my declaration of emunah …my trust, belief, and faith in the One who created me, and sustains me. Amein!
”I am Adonai; that is my name. I yield my glory to no one else, nor my praise to any idol.” (Isa 42:8 CJB)
