Blessed are You, Adonai our Elohim, King of the universe, who not only gives me ears to hear with, but also gives me the ability to distinguish between all the different sounds, and the distance between one sound and another. From the closeness of a baby’s cry to the dog barking over the hill, all these sounds are distinct in their own way. Yet it is Your voice, YAH, that is the most precious sound of all —from the still, small sound, to the roar that is like many waters — Your voice, that strikes the chord within my heart. Speak, YAH, for Your servant listens!
